We are an independent collective of artist-writers dedicated to creating meaningful and beautiful artifacts. Specializing primarily in book arts and collaborating with the emerging writer, bcp is eager to be the vessel for any artful endeavors.
Though officially launched in 2010, broadcraft press had its beginning as the collaborative design team behind the 2007 issue of rock, paper, scissors — a literary magazine designed and curated by the graduate students of The Creative Writing Programs of Hamline University in Saint Paul, MN. The combined years of experience in book arts, print design, and editorial work, along with the creative chemistry of the group, inevitably and naturally led to the formation of the press.
Today broadcraft continues to evolve as a non-traditional press. Our focus is to work closely with each author to create a final product that truly reflects the art of collaboration. Once the product is finished, the responsibility of sales and distribution falls to the author. While we will always promote the books we’ve made, we feel it is significant to empower authors to have total control of where and how their books sell.
